At KatKin our mission is to change cats’ lives by giving them the healthiest and tastiest fresh food possible.

Over the past 10 months, our team of nutritionists, vets and fresh food experts have been researching and trialling new ways of cooking our fresh food. With the aim to preserve a greater amount of nutrients and flavours to make an even better fresh food for cats. 

We’re excited to share that we’re improving the way we cook our fresh food.

All of our ingredients will stay exactly the same. And our fresh food will still be gently-cooked at low temperatures, just as it is now. But we’ll be moving from cooking in small batches to cooking in individual meal portions. 

This means even more nutrients and natural moisture will be preserved, for better cat health. Plus the texture will be meatier and more succulent, for better taste and more enjoyment. And if your cat likes their food warmed up, you’ll be able to do this in the microwave or by adding hot water. 

A large number of customers have trialled this healthier, tastier food over the last few months. 98% are happier with the improved food, saying that it met or exceeded all their expectations of fresh food. And 90% of cats ate the new food straight away, with the rest adjusting after a couple of days.  Following such positive feedback, we’ll be making this improved fresh food available to all of our customers.  

To enable these improvements, we’ll be changing our packaging from a rigid tray to a flexible tray. The new trays are the same shape, size and colour to the existing trays. But you’ll need to use scissors to open them. 

This change will come into effect for all deliveries from 11 April. Boxes delivered from this date will be a mix of the current and improved food, to make sure that cats have enough of each to make a more gradual switch if needed. We’ll also include free Chicken Sprinkles, in case you’d like to add them to the food.
