At KatKin our mission is to change cats’ lives by giving them the healthiest and tastiest fresh food possible.

Over the past 10 months, our team of nutritionists, vets and fresh food experts have been researching and trialling new ways of cooking our fresh food. With the aim to preserve a greater amount of nutrients and flavours to make an even better fresh food for cats. 

We’re excited to share that we’re improving the way we cook our fresh food. 

We’ll be moving to cooking in individual portions - in the same way to how we currently cook our pouch food.  This change will be across all seven of our fresh recipes. 

All of our ingredients will stay exactly the same. And our fresh food will still be gently-cooked at low temperatures, just as it is now. But our improved method will preserve even more nutrients and natural moisture, for better cat health. Plus the texture will be meatier and more succulent, exactly like our current pouch recipes, for better taste and more enjoyment. And if your cat likes their food warmed up, you’ll be able to do this in the microwave or by adding hot water. Just like you do with the current pouch recipes. 

To enable these improvements, we’ll be moving to cooking all of our recipes inside new flexible trays. The new trays have two individual meal portions like our existing trays, but are a robust material for us to cook in, exactly like the current pouch packaging. So you will need to use scissors to open them.

This change will come into effect for all deliveries from 11 April. The recipes and texture are exactly the same as the pouch food. We expect cats to tuck right in, so your first box from this date will only have food in the new flexible trays. We’ll also include free Chicken Sprinkles, in case you’d like to add them to the food.
