KATKIN BREEDER CLUB FAQs

Want to join the KatKin Breeders Club, but have some questions? Here are a few FAQs to ensure you have all the details you need to get going.

HOW IT WORKS

Q - How do I check if I’m eligible?

A - To be eligible for the KatKin Breeder Club, you must be registered with GCCF. And you can start gifting boxes as soon as you have an active litter.

Q - How do I sign up?

A - Simply fill out our form here and we’ll let you know if your application to join the KatKin Breeder Club has been approved. Please note: we reserve the right to check your details with GCCF to confirm your breeder status.

Q - How does the KatKin Breeder Club work?

A - When customers come to visit kittens, let them know about KatKin, the benefits of our fresh food and their chance to snag a trial box. Once the litter and kittens are registered with GCCF, you can visit katkin.com/breeder and log into your account to gift a box.

We'll need to know a few details about any interested customer(s) and the kitten(s) they’ve picked:

  • First + last name

  • Full postal address

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Kitten age, weight + GCCF registration no.

Finally, you’ll select an agreed delivery date for their box. (Make sure customers know our fresh food arrives frozen and needs to be stored in their fridge and freezer.) Then we’ll deliver a 14 day trial to their home. So their new kitten can sink their teeth into fresh — and feel the benefits of a 100% real meat diet.

For every trial box delivered to a new kitten, you’ll get a £15 referral fee. We pay breeders by the 15th of each month. This payment covers boxes successfully delivered in the month prior

Q - What information will I need from new kitten parents?

A - Before gifting a 14 day trial box to a kitten parent, you’ll need a few details to hand:

  • Full name

  • Postal address

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Agreed delivery date*

Plus, for each kitten:

  • Name

  • GCCF registration number

  • Sex

  • Age

  • Breed

  • Weight

  • Allergies + medical conditions

Please note: you must confirm with customers that they’re happy for you to share the above information with us.

*Delivery dates must fall between Tuesday and Saturday.

Q - Can I gift a box to a kitten parent who doesn’t visit me before collecting their kitten?

A - We would always encourage you to meet and speak to new kitten parents before they collect their kittens. But we recognise that sometimes this isn’t possible. In these instances, you can still offer a trial box over the phone before collection. Or you can sign up a new kitten parent on the day of collection, so they receive their trial box a couple of days later.

Q - What delivery day should the owner choose?

A - We deliver between Tuesday and Saturday. (Including those two days.)

We recommend arranging delivery a day or two before the new kitten parent collects their kitten. So they have time to familiarise themselves with the product and the feeding instructions (which are included).

Some kitten parents prefer to let new kittens settle into their new homes before changing diet. Our fresh food lasts for about 9 months in the freezer. Which gives kitten parents plenty of time to start feeding fresh whenever suits best.

Q - I’ve ordered a box but now my customer wants to change the date. What should I do?

A - Is the delivery date more than three days away? Good news. You can get in touch with our dedicated team of Cat Experts, and they’ll be able to change it for you. Just drop us an email at breeders@katkin.com, and make sure to include the customer’s name, email address, current delivery date and new delivery date.

Unfortunately, if the delivery date is fewer than three days away, it'll be too late for us to change it. But remember: our food arrives frozen. Which means it’ll keep in the freezer for around 9 months.

Q - Can I get gifted boxes delivered to my house?

A - Unfortunately, we can only deliver the gifted trial boxes to kitten parents, not their breeders.

Q - Can new kitten parents sign themselves up for a trial box?

A - No. Currently only breeders can gift trial boxes to new kitten parents. (But watch this space.)

Q - I’m registered with a different breeder association. Can I still sign up?

A - No. Currently, we’re only partnered with GCCF and no other breeder associations. (But watch this space.)

Q - What happens if the new kitten parent wants to continue with their KatKin subscription?

A - Don’t worry: you don’t need to lift a claw. We’ll get back in touch with each kitten parent near the end of their trial. So they can let us know if they’d like to continue with their subscription and provide us their card details.

Please note: you shouldn't take any card details as part of the KatKin sign-up process. If a kitten parent wants to continue receiving deliveries from KatKin, they should arrange this with us directly.

Q - Is there a limit to the number of kittens I can refer?

A - No. You can refer as many GCCF-registered kittens as you like — as long as you are their breeder. You may only gift one trial box per kitten.

Q - How much does KatKin cost after the trial?

A - Prices start from £1.89 per day. But the cost is dependent on a variety of factors, including kitten breed and weight.

Q - Why should I recommend KatKin to new kitten parents?

A - Our vet-formulated, complete + balanced recipes are made from 100% real, human-quality meat. With no added preservatives, grains, fillers or cereals. To help growing kittens thrive through kittenhood and beyond.

Q - Can I try a box of KatKin for my own cats?

A - Haven’t tried KatKin before and want to see what all the fuss is about? Good news:  we can send you a 14 day trial box. Just drop our Cat Experts an email at breeders@katkin.com

Q - Can I get a breeder discount on food for my own cats?

A - Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer breeders a discount on fresh food for their own cats. But watch this space.

PAYMENT

Q - When + how will I be paid for my gifted boxes?

A - We pay breeders £15 per free trial box successfully gifted to a new kitten.

When you sign up, we’ll ask for your account number and sort code. We’ll pay you by the 15th of each month. And this payment will cover boxes delivered in the month prior.

You’ll also receive a system-generated invoice from us at the end of each month. This will show you how many trial boxes you’ve successfully organised, and how much money we owe you. Please let us know if you have any queries on your invoice.

Q - Does gifting boxes cost me anything?

A - No. We cover all associated costs.
